The course was led by Isabella Inti, urban architect, founder of Temporiuso srl—social enterprise and design studio dedicated to temporary uses—and co-director of the M-US-T Temporary Uses Master’s program at the Politecnico di Milano University, together with Giulia Cantaluppi, co-founder of Temporiuso and PhD in Territorial Planning and public policies.

For SAU Sichuan Agricolture University – College of Architecture and Urban-Rural Planning in Dujiangyan Campus |_”TEMPORARY USES AND PROJECTS IN CHINA. A Toolbox: the Case of Chengdu”

We are delighted to have been invited by Sichuan Agricolture University – College of Architecture and Urban-Rural Planning in Dujiangyan Campus, to teach the course “TEMPORARY USES AND PROJECTS IN CHINA. A Toolbox: the Case of Chengdu,” which will take place from July 13th to 17th.
This is the first year training initiative in China dedicated to the themes of temporary and transitional uses for abandoned spaces or areas undergoing transformation, an increasingly strategic tool in contemporary urban policies.
The course will be led by Isabella Inti, urban architect, founder of Temporiuso srl—a social enterprise and design studio dedicated to temporary uses—and co-director of the M-US-T Temporary Uses Master’s program at the Politecnico di Milano University, together with Giulia Cantaluppi, co-founder of Temporiuso and PhD in Territorial Planning and Territorial Policies.
Special thanks go to Zhang Lingquing, the Deputy Dean and Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban rural Planning at SAU for the invitation, to Zhou Rui- associate professor and Zhang Chengyan- associate professor, to our great assistant Taiwu Li- urban designer and to architect Boshu Si, Landscape designer, and a longtime collaborator of Temporiuso in Italy.

We are very grateful and honored to have led the course and workshop “Temporiuso. Temporary uses and projects in China: a toolbox, the case of Chengdu “, as Isabella Inti with Giulia Cantaluppi Temporiuso and in collaboration with Xu Xin – Associated professor, Sichuan University.
Thanks to support and the exchange idea to landscape arch Boshu Si (already Temporiuso collaborator in Milan and former Politecnico student in Milan).
The most joyful satisfaction for us was the shift of attitude and trust in a new professional job as temporary use architect and designer that take care of spaces as common ground for public use.
“ the pool of dreams show that temporary projects could test new patterns of use, activate new public imaginaries, and build places collaboratively with communities. We will start from our university campus to dream and take care of our students spaces”.
Thanks to the new generations (of pragmatic dreamers) and to the Sichuan University architecture department for this opportunity.

È stato un piacere per Temporiuso srl impresa sociale partecipare al workshop di idee per le istituzioni locali di Karlovy Vary, insieme ai colleghi di #PublicSpaceLab.

La città, nel cuore della Repubblica Ceca, custodisce un patrimonio straordinario di spazi termali, strutture ricettive storiche e aree produttive dismesse che oggi cercano nuovi usi, nuovi pubblici e nuovi modelli di gestione.
La domanda che ci ha guidati è semplice e complessa allo stesso tempo: come attivare usi temporanei e progetti transitori capaci di riattivare questo patrimonio?
Abbiamo iniziato a esplorare possibili risposte confrontando casi studio italiani, europei e internazionali legati al tema delle shrinking cities e della rigenerazione attraverso pratiche leggere, progressive e collaborative.
Un confronto ricco, che apre nuove prospettive di lavoro comune.

It was a pleasure for Temporiuso srl social enterprise to participate in the ideas workshop for local institutions in Karlovy Vary, along with our colleagues from Public Space Lab.
#karlovyvary Vary in the Czech Republic boasts a vast heritage of hospitality and spa spaces, as well as former production spaces seeking new uses and interest groups. How can we activate temporary uses and transitional projects to reactivate this heritage?
We began discussing this and comparing Italian, European, and international case studies of shrinking cities.

Sapete cos’è uno stair painting?

Dal 14 al 17 aprile 2026 un team di studenti del Master in brand design di ABA Accademia di Belle Arti di Perugia, guidati dal prof. Marco Tortoioli Ricci con gli architetti di Temporiuso e Stecca3 , in collaborazione con il team di Materially, hanno progettato e realizzato un intervento di grafica e tipografia ambientale sul tema di “Inspiration is Everywhere. Engraving is Standex” sulla scalinata della Stecca3 centro socio culturale.

Standex Engraving Mold-Tech è leader globale nelle soluzioni di texture personalizzate, in grado di valorizzare estetica e funzionalità di prodotti in settori diversi – tra cui automotive, elettronica, biomedicale, farmaceutico e beni di consumo che utilizziamo ogni giorno. Il progetto vincitore del contest prende ispirazione dalle texture di Standex che, astratte fino alla loro essenza – il ritmo – generano un imponente pattern visivo di una qualità spiccatamente musicale.
